Loren Chambers

Loren is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Accredited Sports Dietitian having completed five years of full time study. This includes a Bachelor in Food Science & Nutrition (RMIT), a Master of Dietetics (Deakin) and the Sports Dietitians course at the AIS in Canberra.

Loren Chambers as a dietitian has 3 years’ experience working in the private healthcare setting, providing nutrition assessment and individualized intervention for individuals of all ages. She has a special interest in sports nutrition as she finds the affect that good food and nutrition has on performance very fascinating. On top of her private practice consulting, she also works at the Victorian Institute of Sport, Richmond Football Club (VFL) and the Eastern Ranges Football Club (TAC cup).

Loren’s interest in food developed at a young age. With an Italian mother, she grew up with home grown fruits/vegetables, minimal packaged foods and spending hours in the kitchen as her mother’s little apprentice chef. She spent 18 years of her life as a ballet dancer. As a teenager, she was completely captivated by a presentation on nutrition and healthy eating given to her Ballet School by a Sports Dietitian. Her drive, motivation and knowledge in the field of dietetics struck something in her that she will never forget. It was at this time, she decided she also wanted to initiate difference in people’s lives, whilst being challenged yet rewarded.

Loren believes that healthy eating is not about dieting or depriving yourself of your favourite foods – it is about eating everything in moderation. She works with a “Non-Diet” weight management approach & support eating in an individually tailored way that supports every person’s unique needs.

Although Loren spends all day talking about food, on her weekends you will find her in the kitchen cooking and creating new healthy recipes, trying out the breakfast/brunch menus at different cafe’s or at a football game feeding the players up with lollies and Gatorade. She also enjoys running, travelling, good coffee and spending time at the beach.
